Economic Cooperation

Economic Cooperation

The Embassy is actively engaged in promoting and strengthening economic and commercial relations between Italy and Norway.
Bilateral economic relations are characterized by a growing flow of trade as well as promising growth prospects in the sectors of industrial collaborations and mutual investments. On a more strictly commercial level, there is a significant increase in trade. The existing collaboration in the energy sector is of great importance in the context of the bilateral economic relations between Italy and Norway. Vår Energi (former ENI Norge), a company of the ENI group, has been active on the Norwegian continental shelf since the start of the exploitation of Norwegian oil fields. Since 2001, the supply of Norwegian gas to Italy has started.
