{"id":167,"date":"2023-04-11T18:17:44","date_gmt":"2023-04-11T16:17:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amboslo.esteri.it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/emergency-travel-documents-etd\/"},"modified":"2025-12-19T12:56:04","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T11:56:04","slug":"emergency-travel-documents-etd","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/amboslo.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/passaporti-e-carte-didentita\/emergency-travel-documents-etd\/","title":{"rendered":"Emergency Travel Document (ETD)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>In Norway<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">If an Italian citizen not resident in Norway suffers theft or loss of his Italian identity document<\/span>, the Consular Office in Oslo can issue a temporary travel document, called ETD (<strong>Emergency Travel Document<\/strong>).<br \/>\nThe ETD is valid for a single trip to return to Italy or to the foreign country of permanent residence (the latter must be proven by AIRE registration in that country).<\/p>\n<p>To issue the provisional document it is necessary to <strong>present yourself at the <a href=\"https:\/\/amboslo.esteri.it\/en\/chi-siamo\/contatti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Consular Chancellery<\/a><\/strong> of the Italian Embassy in Oslo <strong>during the opening hours<\/strong> <strong>to the public<\/strong> and with the following <strong>documents<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ETD request form<\/span>, which will be provided by the office and completed on site by the interested party.<\/li>\n<li>No. 2 color <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">photographs<\/span>, passport size (35&#215;40 cm).<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Original report<\/span> of theft\/loss of passport\/identity card <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">presented to the Norwegian Police authorities<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Presentation of an original <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">identification document<\/span> (e.g. driving licence). Alternatively: photocopy of the stolen\/lost document.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Airline ticket,<\/span> or printout of your <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">travel reservation, or boarding pass<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>With the adoption of the new travel document model starting December 9, 2025, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">there is currently no charge<\/span> for those requesting an ETD.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the case of ETDs to be issued to minors, a written consent document from both parents is required.
