Mountains, mountaineering, climate change\u201d\u00a0<strong>opens in Oslo<\/strong> <strong>8 March 2023 at 6:00 pm at Det Gamle Biblioteket<\/strong>, Arne Garborgs plass 4.<\/p>\n<p>The photographic exhibition <strong>\u201cItalian Routes. Mountains, mountaineering, climate change\u201d<\/strong> is a project of Italy\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, created in collaboration with the non-profit association <a href=\"https:\/\/fabianoventura.com\/en\/projects\/on-the-trails-of-the-glaciers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Macromicro<\/strong> and <strong>curated by Fabiano Ventura<\/strong><\/a>, a landscape photographer specialized in environmental issues.<\/p>\n<p>The Norwegian stop-over of the exhibition, organized by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo, <strong>opens on 8 March at 6:00 pm at Det Gamle Biblioteket<\/strong>, Arne Garborgs plass 4, with interventions by the curator of the exhibition, the Italian landscape photographer Fabiano Ventura, who will illustrate the photographic-scientific project of Italian Routes, and by Andrea Spolaor, researcher at the CNR (Research Council of Italy), presenting the glaciological research activities of the Italian Institute of Polar Sciences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The exhibition will be open to the public from 9 to 19 March 2023<\/strong> (except on March 10, when the gallery is closed).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"resource\/doc\/2023\/03\/italian_routes_320x250.png\" alt=\"italian routes 320x250\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The exhibition\u2019s different sections take the audience on a journey through Italian (and international) mountain landscapes, from the Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa and Cervino, Bernina, Ortles-Cevedale, Adamello, reaching the Dolomites and the Julian Alps and all the way to the Gran Sasso. Italian Routes shows how mountaineering and outdoor sports can become means of learning about environmental values, the defense of natural habitats and mountain ecosystems.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Programme<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Inauguration \u2013 8 March, 6:30 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The inauguration (reserved to representatives of diplomacy, politics, culture and research, together with journalists and other personalities) opens the exhibition Italian Routes &#8211; Mountains, mountaineering, climate change, with interventions by the curator of the exhibition, the Italian landscape photographer Fabiano Ventura, who will illustrate the photographic-scientific project of Italian Routes, and by Andrea Spolaor, researcher at the CNR (Research Council of Italy), presenting the glaciological research activities of the Italian Institute of Polar Sciences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Opening hours \u2013 9-19 March, weekdays 12:00 &#8211; 6:00 pm, holydays 11:00 am &#8211; 4:00 pm (10 March: closed)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Guided tours for the public \u2013 11 and 19 March, 12:00 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Seminar <a href=\"https:\/\/iicoslo.esteri.it\/iic_oslo\/it\/gli_eventi\/calendario\/2023\/03\/climate-change-and-socio-environmental.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>&#8220;Climate Change and Socio-Environmental Transformations&#8221;<\/em><\/a> \u2013 14 March, 9:30 am &#8211; 2:00 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The seminar, introduced and moderated by Prof. Maria Gabriella Trovato, professor at the Department of Landscape Architecture of the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, analyzes the socio-environmental impact of climate change through the interventions of Prof. Kerstin Potthoff and Prof. Tore Edvard Bergaust from the Department of Landscape Architecture at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Prof. Elisabeth Sj\u00f6dahl from the Technical University of Architecture and Design in Oslo, Prof. Alejandra Mancilla from the Department of philosophy, history of art and ideas from the University of Oslo and by Prof. Eimear Tynan from the Arctic University of Troms\u00f8.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u2022 &#8220;Italian producers on the glaciers&#8221;<\/em>: Event dedicated to Italian excellences in the winter sports equipment sector \u2013 15 March, 2:00 &#8211; 5:00 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Several Italian companies will be present at the event, organized in collaboration with Assosport, the Italian Association for Manufacturers of Sport Equipment: <strong>La Sportiva<\/strong> (based in Val di Fiemme, has been producing technical clothing, footwear and accessories for climbing, hiking and mountaineering since 1928); <strong>Ferrino<\/strong> (offers a wide selection of products for winter sports and outdoor activities, including tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, clothing and footwear. Ferrino also distributes the brands Black Crows, CarePLUS, DMM, Gebrer, Source Human nature, PLUM, Opinel, Primus, Silva, Tenaya, True Utility and Trangia); <strong>Aku<\/strong> (the shoe factory has been producing mountain, hunting and leisure shoes for over 40 years, in full respect of the incomparable Italian manufacturing tradition); <strong>Scarpa<\/strong> ((a family-run footwear company that has produced technologically advanced sports shoes for over 65 years and is run according to a highly innovative and sustainable business model); <strong>Vibram<\/strong> (founded by the talented mountaineer Vitale Bramani, the entrepreneur who invented the Vibram Carrarmato sole, the company specializes in the development of innovative sports shoes with the best soles in terms of performance, but also in their impact on the environment).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/iicoslo.esteri.it\/iic_oslo\/nb\/gli_eventi\/calendario\/2023\/03\/paesaggi-sonori-concerto-per-violincello.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Concert \u201cGlitch. Paesaggi Sonori\u201d<\/a> \u2013 16 March, 6:30 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cello concert with Flavia Massimo, contemporary cellist, sound designer and event curator, specialized in both classical and electronic music.
