The SIOI, the Italian Society for International
\nOrganization\/UN Association for Italy, in partnership with the Unites States
\nDiplomatic Missions in Italy, and together with the Students\u2019 Movement for
\nInternational Organization (MSOI\/UNYA-Italy), has launched the Official Model United
\nNations Conference 2015 (ROMUN 2015) that will take place in Rome from October 16th to October 20th, 2015.<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/font><\/p>\n

Since 1997, ROMUN is a simulation of the United Nations
\nsystem, organized in Italy, for students and graduates from all
\nover the world. This simulation gives young people\u00a0an important
\nopportunity\u00a0to comprehend the life and work of international organizations
\nand to provide a platform for international-level discussions among students
\nfrom different countries<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/font><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event enjoys the patronage of the Italian
\nMinistry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Milan EXPO 2015, UN
\nagencies in Rome (FAO, WFP, IFAD) and several Italian Universities. It has been
\nnamed \u201cThe model of ideas\u201d since it has the objective of adopting a \u201cYouth Road
\nMap\u201d on the Sustainable Development Goals, to be delivered to the Secretary General
\nof the United Nations.<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/font><\/p>\n

The event will open
\nwith a ceremony at the FAO Headquarters on Friday October 16th, and close with
\na visit to the EXPO 2015 in Milan. ROMUN 2015 takes place in a particularly
\nsignificant year that marks the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Charter
\nof the of the United Nations and the 60th anniversary of Italy\u2019s membership in
\nthe Organization.<\/o:p><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n
