The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has opened the submission of applications for three scientific awards:<\/p>\n

  1. The award\u00a0\u201cItalian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. The award\u00a0\u201cL\u2019innovazione che parla italiano\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. The award\u00a0\u201cScience, She Says!\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \"\"<\/p>\n

    1. The \u201cItalian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award\u201d <\/strong>aims at recognizing the work of an Italian young scientist who has remarkably contributed to the advancement of science and technology while performing her\/his research abroad, thus improving Italy\u2019s S&T relations with foreign countries and international organizations. Now in its ninth edition, the award is dedicated to Italian independent scientists up to 35 years of age, with 3 to 7 years of experience since completion of their PhD degree, holding a very good scientific track record and carrying out top level research activities in collaboration with foreign scientists active in the country where they live and work. Research activities within multilateral organizations are also eligible.<\/p>\n

    The applications, which must be sent to\u00a0oslo.commerciale@esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a018 September 2026<\/strong><\/span>, will be examined by a Scientific Committee chaired by the Head of Office XI of the Directorate General for Growth and Export Promotion at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and composed by representatives of the Council of the Presidents of Public Research Institutions (CoPer).<\/p>\n

    The prize awarded to the winner will take the form of a grant to support a three-month research stay at an Italian research institution, to be undertaken within 12 months of the winner\u2019s selection. The host institution will be selected in consultation with CoPer, taking into account any preferences expressed by candidates in their applications.<\/p>\n

    The winner will also be invited to present their research at the Conference of Scientific, Space and Agricultural Attach\u00e9s and Experts, to be held in Reggio Calabria in November, and will receive a certificate and commemorative plaque.<\/p>\n

    2. The award \u201cL\u2019innovazione che parla italiano\u201d<\/strong>, now in its ninth edition, is the recognition of the high innovative value of Technology Startups that operate abroad and that were founded by Italian citizens. The award is aimed at startups that can demonstrate that they possess significant innovation potential, with reference to the state of the art both in the host country and internationally.<\/p>\n

    The applications, which must be sent to\u00a0oslo.commerciale@esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a018 September 2026<\/strong><\/span>, will be examined by Office IV and XI of the Directorate General for Growth and Export Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with PNICube, the National Network of University Incubators and Start Cup Competitions.<\/p>\n

    The winner will be invited to showcase their research and innovation in the start-up segment of the Conference of Scientific, Space and Agricultural Attach\u00e9s and Experts, to be held in Reggio Calabria in November. The winner will also receive a certificate and a commemorative plaque.<\/p>\n

    3. The award \u201cScience, She Says!\u201d<\/strong>, now in its fourth edition, aims at recognizing 5 outstanding junior female scientists who have remarkably contributed to the advancement of bilateral scientific cooperation in any field of science and technology. Five young foreign researchers under 40 from 5 geographical areas (Africa and the Middle East; Asia and the Pacific; Europe; Central and South America; North America) will be selected by a Committee chaired by the Head of Office XI of the Directorate General for Growth and Export Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and composed by the Presidents and\/or Representatives of the major Italian Research and Academic Institutions.<\/p>\n

    Applications must be sent to\u00a0oslo.commerciale@esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a015 September 2026<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

    The award will consist of a certificate and commemorative plaque, which will be presented to the winners at a ceremony organized by the relevant diplomatic missions as part of the celebrations for the Italian Research Day in the World.<\/p>\n
