To mark the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the death of Gioacchino Rossini also in Norway, the Rossini Opera Festival, the famous Pesaro Festival, will visit Oslo at the end of September. The program of the tour includes a concert at the Opera House and two master-classes by Maestro Ernesto Palacio, artistic director of the Festival.
The concert will take place on Sunday 30 September 2018, at 6.30 pm, at the Oslo Opera House. The mezzo-soprano Aurora Faggioli, the tenor Shanul Sharma and the bass Elcin Huseynov, accompanied on the piano by Olesya Tutova, will perform famous arias from the works Maometto II, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, L’Italiana in Algeri, La Cenerentola (Mehmet II, The Barber of Seville, The Italian Girl in Algiers, Cinderella).
The previous day, Saturday 29 September, also at at the Oslo Opera House, Maestro Ernesto Palacio will hold two master-classes related to the repertoire of the great composer from Pesaro, beginning at 11.00 am and 4.00 pm respectively. Singers of the Opera, the Norwegian Academy of Music and of the Oslo Opera Singing School will attend.
