Who we are

The Embassy of Italy in Norway and Iceland is located in Inkognitogata 7 in Oslo, a stone’s throw from the Royal Palace and the seafront.

The activities

The Embassies of Italy represent Italy abroad from the point of view of diplomatic relations in the political, economic, cultural and scientific fields.

The Ambassador – who takes care of all relations with the country to which he is accredited – is assisted by collaborators, diplomats and non-diplomats, who work in the various offices which make up the diplomatic headquarters. First of all is the Consular Chancery, whose task is the protection of our compatriots residing in Norway in various circumstances, be they emergencies, crisis situations, family searches, repatriations and violations. The Consulate also deals with the issuance of documents such as passports, visas, tax codes, notarial deeds and electoral services. The Embassy follows the initiatives promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute, the Comites and the Dante Alighieri Association in favor of the Italian community residing in Norway, which is constantly increasing.

The Embassy also has an economic office – and within it there is also an office of the ICE/ITA Agency (Italian Trade Agency). Both structures are responsible for facilitating collaboration and commercial exchange between Italy and Norway , through market research, reports on the economic situation and on commercial exchanges, meetings, events and webinars. The Office also deals with the promotion of Italian entrepreneurial activity and Made in Italy in Norway.

Another office of the Embassy is the press and communication office, which deals with the external communication of the Embassy, the promotion and the collection of useful information on everything that happens in Norway and which may be of interest to the Italian authorities as well as the preparation of press releases and the feeding of the various social channels of the headquarters and the institutional website.

The accounting office of the Embassy deals with all the administrative and accounting aspects of the Embassy, while the secretariat assists the Ambassador and the employees of the headquarters, and deals with the organization of events, missions and numerous other practical aspects related to the activity of the Embassy, in addition to contact with the public.
