Professor Paolo Ricci (President of ASD Angel) and Dr. Maria Grazia Imbimbo (Project Manager) have chosen Nordstrand Turnforeningen in Oslo as a partner for the Erasmus+ project “Come un faro!”, funded by the European Commission.

The project aims to study the Norwegian reality of non-competitive youth sport and the phenomenon of dropout from sport, and includes preparatory and study visits to Oslo.

Associazione Angel is an amateur sports association in Rome specializing in artistic gymnastics. It promotes sport as a tool for inclusion and well-being, choosing not to participate in competitions to avoid performance stress. Particular attention is given to welcoming children and young people with special needs.

The association participates in European projects through Erasmus+, collaborating with other European organizations, including the Norwegian association Nordstrand Turnforeningen in Oslo, chosen for its low dropout rate (22% versus 42% in Italy).

The project has multiple goals: to explore new educational methodologies based on joy and inclusion, without competitions or trophies, for children aged 4-11; to use sport to improve social inclusion; to offer children physical activities to develop emotions and relationships; to internationalize the association; to learn new, replicable educational and sporting methods; and to raise awareness among families and stakeholders about the importance of sport as a lifestyle and an educational tool.
