On September 5, a coordination meeting of the Honorary Consuls of Norway and Iceland was held at the Embassy in Oslo. Chaired by Ambassador Stefano Nicoletti, the meeting was also attended by Honorary Vice Consul of Bergen Andrea Magugliani, Honorary Vice Consul of Stavanger Alessia Galfano, Consular Agent of Svolvær Anniken Ellingsen Aarstein, Honorary Vice Consul of Trondheim Giuseppe Marinelli, Honorary Vice Consul of Tromsø Alessandro Belleli, and Honorary Consul General in Iceland Rosa Björg Jónsdóttir.
During the coordination meeting, a series of aspects regarding the provision of consular services in the region were discussed, aimed at meeting the growing demands of the Italian community in Norway and Iceland, which now numbered 11,365 at the end of 2024 (a doubling in less than 10 years).
The new citizenship law was also presented to the honorary consuls, and future integrated promotion initiatives for the Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Norway and Iceland were discussed, with the participation of Raffaella Giampaola, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo.
Professor Elisabetta Cassina, President of the Comites Norway and Iceland, also participated in one session of the meeting, presenting the initiatives they have organized in the regions.
