Storm Amy in Southern Norway

Tempesta

📢 Norwegian authorities have issued a red alert 🔺for the southern regions of Vestfold and Telemark, which will be affected by Storm Amy.

☂️Heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected on the evening of October 3rd and throughout October 4th, especially in some coastal areas of the Skagerak region.

This could impact road and rail traffic due to landslides and flooding, as well as maritime transport due to the very strong winds.

🚄 The county of Rogaland, for which an orange alert has been issued, will also be affected by adverse weather events.

Some night trains on the southern route of the country have been canceled, as have several ferry services in Larvik, Sandefjord, and Kristiansand.

All tourists visiting in these areas are advised to exercise extreme caution and check weather forecasts before traveling. This can be done by visiting the Varsom website at https://www.varsom.no/en/, which is also available as an app on the App Store and Google Play.

For road traffic information: https://www.vegvesen.no/trafikk#, which provides traffic information and any disruptions for your chosen route.

For information on flight schedules (some of which are experiencing delays and/or cancellations), we recommend checking with your airline and on the Norwegian airport website: https://avinor.no/en/

All Italian tourists are advised to register their trip to Norway on the Dove Siamo nel mondo website and to download the “ViaggiareSicuri” app.
