The meeting of the honorary Consuls and Vice Consuls in Norway and Iceland took place on December 6th. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the ability to listen and respond to the needs of the increasingly large Italian community in Norway and Iceland, which has doubled its size in the last eight years, going from 4,818 to 9,555 units (+851 units in 2022 ).
Faced with the increase in the Italian presence, the honorary consular network has renewed its commitment to support both Italians – and tourists -, residing in areas far from the capital.
The meeting was attended by the honorary Vice Consul in Trondheim, Giuseppe Marinelli, the honorary Vice Consul in Tromsø, Kjell Skog, the Consul General in Iceland, Rósa Björg Jónsdóttir, and the two new honorary Vice Consuls in Stavanger, Alessia Galfano, and in Bergen, Peter Kristoffer Blücher, who withdrew the devices for the collection of biometric data used in the delivery of consular services.

During the meeting, the award of the “Star of Italy” was conferred to Dr. Margherita Podestà.
