Advertisement Notices for contributions aimed at Italy’s participation in peace and humanitarian initiatives at international level.

The 2019 Budget Law (Law December 30 2018, nr. 145), amending the Presidential Decree 18/1967, contains new procedures to grant contributions aimed at promoting Italy’s participation in peace and humanitarian initiatives at international level.

The new law provides for the possibility to grant such contributions also to Italian and foreign private entities, as long as they comply with the principles of transparency and equal treatment.

The Advertisement Notices aimed at acquiring the applications submitted by private entities in order to obtain such contributions are available on the MAE website at the following link: https://www.esteri.it/mae/en/trasparenza_comunicazioni_legali/sovvenzioni_contributi_sussidi_vantaggi_economici/criterimodalita/criteri-e-modalita.html

With reference to the procedure, attention is drawn on art. 4 of both Notices which states that the applications by private entities with legal office in a non-EU country, must be presented exclusively through the territorially competent Italian Diplomatic Representation (par. 2). Furthermore, rather than the “substitutive declaration of certification”, private entities must submit an equivalent and appropriate documentation according to the legislation of the country of origin, which must be legalized by the territorially competent Diplomatic Representation (par. 5).

The deadline to present the applications is September 30, 2021, and, in this regard, only the stamp affixed by the Diplomatic Representation will be considered as a valid receipt (par. 6).
