Alberto Colella new Italian ambassador in Oslo

Ambassador Alberto Colella will take up his duties in Oslo as of 12 February 2018.

Alberto Colella is born in Naples, Italy, on 7 April 1962.

He graduated in Law from the University of Naples in 1985 with specialization in International Law.

He joined the Italian Diplomatic Service in 1986. Before being appointed Ambassador of Italy to Oslo, he has been Consul in Belo Horizonte (Brazil) and Consul General in Geneva (Switzerland). Abroad he has also served at the Embassy of Italy in Brasilia and the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations in New York.

In Rome, at the Ministry of foreign Affairs, he has worked with legal affairs (1986-1990) and consular matters (1998-1999). From 2012 up to today he has been the head of the Visa Unit of the Ministry.

He is married to Maria Rosaria Gallo and has five children.

Among his hobbies are reading, early medieval history and sports.
