During his official mission to Iceland, Ambassador Stefano Nicoletti met with the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Martin Eyjólfsson, with whom he reviewed the main issues of the excellent bilateral relations between Iceland and Italy. Then the Ambassador, accompanied by the Honorary Consul General in Iceland, Rosa Bjorg Jonsdottir, paid a visit to the Prime Minister’s Office, where he held a broad and cordial conversation with the Counselor for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Auðunn Atlason.
The visit to Iceland continued with a meeting of Amb. Nicoletti – accompanied by Prof. Stefano Rosatti – with the Rector of the University of Iceland, Jón Atli Benediktsson. Topic of the meeting was the presence of the many Italian academics and researchers in Iceland. The program continued with a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the Icelandic Parliament (Alþingi), Birgir Ármannsson. In the evening, the Ambassador attended an event at the Central Library, where he met the Italian community and representatives of “Comites” and “Italians in Iceland” associations.
