The Ambassador of Italy in Norway, Stefano Nicoletti, visited the editorial staff of NTB, the only Norwegian press agency. The Ambassador was welcomed by the Director/CEO Tina Mari Flem and by the Editor-in-Chief Hilde Schjerve.
Founded in 1867, NTB has 4000 clients, a turnover of NOK 283 million and 150 employees, providing editorial content to nearly 200 Norwegian media outlets.
NTB is at the forefront of developing innovative technologies for the media market, such as robotic journalism, artificial intelligence and media banking.
NTB has a photographic archive with 400 million images, which represents the visual memory of Norway.
NTB also deals with the drafting of press releases, the organization of photographic services and writing courses for third parties and on commission.
NTB’s vision is to be the most innovative news agency in Europe and collaborates with numerous foreign news agencies.
The headquarters of NTB is the Pressens hus building, the transformation of two historic buildings from 1880 in the historic center of Oslo. The buildings have been transformed into a new hub for media and press activities, with conference rooms, studios and a café/restaurant.
The project was carried out by Atelier Oslo + KIMA Arkitektur in close dialogue with the conservation authorities to find solutions in adherence to the numerous historical constraints.
