Who we are

The Embassy of Italy in Norway and Iceland is located in Inkognitogata 7 in Oslo, a stone’s throw from the Royal Palace and the seafront.

The Embassy of Italy represents Italy abroad in the context of diplomatic, political, economic, cultural, and scientific relations.

The Italian Ambassador, who is responsible for managing relations with the host country, is supported by a team of collaborators—both diplomatic and administrative—working in the various offices that make up the diplomatic mission.

Among these, the Consular Chancery plays a central role in protecting Italian citizens residing in Norway, providing assistance in cases of emergencies, crises, family searches, repatriations, and rights violations. The Consulate also handles the issuance of documents such as passports, visas, tax identification numbers, notarial deeds, and electoral services.

The Embassy closely follows initiatives promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute, the Comites, and the Dante Alighieri Society, all of which serve the growing Italian community in Norway.

The diplomatic mission also hosts a Commercial Office and a branch of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), both dedicated to fostering cooperation and trade between Italy and Norway. Their activities include market research, economic and trade reporting, the organization of meetings, events, and webinars, as well as the promotion of Italian entrepreneurship and Made in Italy products in Norway.

Another key structure is the Press and Communication Office, responsible for the Embassy’s external communication, the promotion and collection of relevant information on local developments of interest to Italian authorities, the drafting of press releases, and the management of social media channels and the institutional website.

The Embassy’s Accounting Office oversees all administrative and financial matters, while the Ambassador’s Office provides operational support to the Ambassador and the staff, coordinating events, missions, and numerous logistical aspects related to the Embassy’s activities, as well as maintaining contact with the public.
