The Norwegian premiere of the first two episodes of the television series “My brilliant friend” was held yesterday evening, November 13, 2018, at the VIKA cinema in Oslo. The series is based on the bestselling Neapolitan novels by the pseudonymous author Elena Ferrante of which “My Brilliant Friend” (in Norwegian: “Mi briljante venninne”) is the first to be adapted for television. The series is set to be aired on November 19 on HBO and on November 27 on Rai1.
The screening of the first two episodes in Oslo was organized jointly by the Italian Embassy, the Italian Cultural Institute and HBO Nordic. The Italian Ambassador Alberto Colella introduced the screening highlighting the huge success and popularity also in Norway of the literary production of Elena Ferrante as well as the initiatives carried out to use this huge literary success for promoting Italian culture and Italian film and television products in the world.
The audience, Italian and Norwegian, who packed the cinema hall, was thrilled by the high artistic quality of the series and gave it an enthusiastic round of applause at the end of the screening.
